April 26, 2015, was the 5 year anniversary of the forming of the USS Somers Crewmembers Association. The 20 Charter Members from DD947 who attended this first "official" reunion set the foundation to begin an Association dedicated: to locating former Somers shipmates: to reunite old friends: to form new friendships: to assist our shipmates and their dependents: to gather and reunite through annual reunions and: to solidify the camaraderie known only to military veterans who have served their Country honorably during wartime and peacetime.
